Justin “Jay” Evans is a second-year at Michigan State University College of Law where he is a member of his school’s Intellectual Property Law Society, as well as Black Law Students Association and the treasurer of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity (Humphrey Chapter).
Prior to the start of his JD, Jay received his Master’s in Cancer Biology from Vanderbilt University and Bachelors in Chemistry from Fayetteville State University. During Jay’s 1L Summer, he worked at Ultragenyx Pharmaceuticals. As a 2L, Jay was a student clerk for Hon. Rosemarie E. Aquilina, as well as LegalRnD Innovation Assistant, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
Jay studied chemistry at Fayetteville State University. Jay intends to take the patent bar this summer.
Prior to law school, Jay was a Fellow at the National Institutes of Health wherein he spent his time at the NIH between the Tech Transfer Office, where he worked on patent infringements and patent licensing, and the Pediatric Oncology Branch, where he worked on validating therapeutics in a Rhabdomyosarcoma preclinical model.
